Hi! My name is Linsey Klug and I'm a second year majoring in Environmental Studies at the University of Cincinnati. I've lived in Cincinnati my entire life, and for most of it I was sheltered from our world's greatest challenges. When I went to Jamaica my junior of high school, I experienced firsthand the environmental destruction and poverty in developing countries. I felt guilty for being so isolated from the major climate and social issues today, but also felt a responsibility to do my part and help. I am so passionate about the issues of climate change, human rights and growth of developing countries, and I am so excited to have a career focused on this. Through UC, I would love to do a mission trip. I want to make a social and political change to better our environment, but I believe that working firsthand with the people affected by climate displacement is crucial to fully understanding the problem. I've been educating myself and others about climate change through writing for UC's Newsrecord and working with the Sustainable Fashion Initiative. I plan on using Cincinnati's connection to the Environmental Protection Agency to understand environmental policy and how it pertains to the economy. I'm so excited to dedicate my time and energy to this amazing university and beautiful city in an effort to make a systemic change for our environment!
